Six people have been injured after dogs began ‘biting people at random’ in front of a school in Birmingham.

Armed police raced to Winson Green, where the animals attacked members of the public.

Paramedics were also called to the scene at 2.30pm this afternoon, while officers reportedly sealed off parts of the western area.

A number of people are said to have been rushed to hospital after being injured.

An elderly man was taken to hospital with bite injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening, the Birmingham Mail reported.

It is understood a child is also among the casualties.

One man took to social media to claim he was attacked by ‘two large dogs’ in the vicinity of Dudley Road earlier today.

West Midlands Police confirmed that six people have been injured by two dogs.

A 28-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of possessing a dog which was dangerously out of control.
